The MARS Pond Aeration System utilizes Patented Double Bubble Technology™ to break down algae forming nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorous. This innovative technology was originally developed in the wastewater treatment industry (where it is still currently used today). We figured that if the MARS had the ability to treat wastewater, that it should be able to handle pond scum as well. Turns out, we were right. The MARS System uses a combination of fine (small) and coarse (large) bubbles to effectively oxygenate (break down by adding oxygen) nutrients that promote pond algae growth. There are three main aspects to this pond aeration system that should be highlighted:
1) Aerating Your Pond:
The small bubble component releases thousands of fine bubbles into the water column every second. Due to the fact that hundreds of thousands of fine bubbles collectively have a very large surface area - not to mention low velocity - they are extremely efficient in terms of transferring oxygen to water. Fine bubble aeration has consistently been proven to have the highest Oxygen Transfer Efficiency (OTE) in the aeration industry. It can successfully raise the dissolved oxygen content of the water quicker than any other technology.
2) Mixing Pond Water:
The large bubble component releases coarse bubbles within a static tube (which is an 8" hollow tube, 6" in diameter). This does a few things. First, it creates a turbulent mixing action within the water column that helps natural, decomposing bacteria to more efficiently oxygenate nutrient material that causes pond algae growth, ecosystem degradation, and eutrophication. Secondly, this aspect also creates a slight vacuum (or venturi) effect, which pulls loose pond muck and sediment into the water column where it can then be broken down. This is the aspect of the MARS Pond Aeration System that is the most unique and separates it from other pond aerators.
3) Create a Sustainable Pond Ecosystem:
With these two compenents working together, the MARS can get rid of pond algae and contribute to an all-around healthy pond ecosystem. Once a balance has been reached, the Double Bubble Technology can take hold and keep the pond clean and healthy for years to come. Additionally, the MARS is self-weighted and self-leveling. It has a sturdy design and is constructed with the most durable of materials, so once it is installed in the water there are very few instances in which it will have to be removed.
